The “Saturday Night Live” star teamed with Maya Rudolph to debut a new bedtime anthem dedicated to his young son. And it’s fantastic.

You guessed it after “Lazy Sunday,” but now you know it’s true—Chris Parnell is the BEST.
With the actor’s tenure on Saturday Night Live, his voice work on shows like Archer and Rick & Morty, and his amazing tendency to pop-up in uber-pedigreed comedy projects like 30 Rock and Anchorman, one could make the argument that Parnell is the Phil Hartman of his generation, one of the load-bearing comedians of the past ten years, or, at the very least, he’s consistently one of the funniest guys in the room. Well, now, Parnell might be one of the coolest dads in the room too.
On The Maya Rudolph Show last week, Parnell teamed up with his old SNL cast-mate to perform a new lullaby that he’d written for his newborn son. In a word, it’s GREAT. It’s as funny as you’d expect and still really affecting and lovely as well. It’s legitimately great. With lyrics like: “There’s urine on your onesie and there’s spit-up on your bib, but I love you. I love you. / Some unknown viscous substance cakes the mattress in your crib, and I love you. I love you.”
Take a look.
HOWEVER, I will say that lullaby is my SECOND favorite song that Parnell has ever sung on TV. This is the first.
